Denver Hotel- Airport or city

Hi all,
We need a one night hotel following a long flight from Europe. Our evening flight arrives at 7.30 pm and we are picking up a rental car the following day.
We need a quiet nice hotel with a shuttle for the airport- is it worth considering a downtown location?

If I were getting in at that time and renting a car at the airport the next day, I would stay near the airport. Check out the hotels on Orbitz or one of the travel sites.

There is no advantage to downtown hotels. They do not provide shuttle service and it is good 30 to 45 minute drive to the downtown area.

Echoing what the others say, unless you are going into Denver the next day. If so, I'd rent the car as you arrive and go on to your Denver destination. Wake up and start your trip in town--IF that is where it does begin. If you are heading to another place, then stay at the airport.

I hope you are not planning to visit Denver between August 24-29, because there will be no hotel rooms available due to the Democratic National Convention.

Embassy Suites has a nice airport location. Given the fact that you'll be exhausted after a long flight, I'd check that one out.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites airport last week. It was very nice, quiet, and the staff was friendly. They have a made to order complimentary breakfast which was a nice perk. The shuttle accommodations were great and there was a Bennigan's and a Village Inn within walking distance if you want to grab a bite to eat after you arrive. There are several other hotels adjacent to the Embassy Suites. If my memory serves me correctly, they were mostly
Marriott properties. I specifically remember a Courtyard. All the hotels in this area look relatively new but don't know for sure which provide a shuttle service.

I believe most, if not all, of the airport hotels provide shuttle service to DIA.

My vote is Embassy Suites unless you want to save a few dimes, then, Comfort Suites. C.S. has complimentary breakfast in the am and shuttle to airport.
