Question for Dan/anyone on B&B Garden District

Hello again:
Can you provide any info about Cindee's Southern Comfort at 1439 Marengo? Website looks lovely but am looking for info about the area. I came up with nothing here when I did a search. Any info greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Michele

Michelle, I am sorry I don't know this property personally. Did a Mapquest search of the address and it's not in the Garden District. It's near Napoleon and St. Charles, which is a good area. If you plan to spend time in the French Quarter, you may find it remote.

Tripadvisor.com has a really good review on this B&B!

Thanks for your prompt response! Would we take taxis from there? Is this expensive or no? How long of a walk would it be from this place to the Garden District and the trolley that runs from there?
Thank you again.

Actually, the streetcar runs all the way to (and up) Carrollton Avenue so you can definitely catch the streetcar from Southern Comfort. It's only a few minutes past the garden district. But again, will you spend most of your time in the FQ? If so, stay there. If not, this sounds like a fine area to be!

Dan, would you mind emailing me direct at:
[email protected]
since we seem to be talking amongst one another.
Thing is, my husband quit drinking a few years back and so I did, too, to support him. We are EARLY risers. We love to eat, but we want to stay somewhere that we will be assured a quiet night's sleep, in an immaculately clean room with a nice bed and a great bathroom. That's why I started my hunt for B&Bs. We will only be there two days. I imaginie we'll get up, eat, walk around, eat, walk around etc. We won't be out late. I am open to your suggestions for my best bet. I'm not worried about price, as this is my one and only vacation in the past three years. But I don't want to stay anyplace stuffy or pretentious.
WHERE IS THIS PLACE IN NO??????
Thanks again for all your help.
Michele
