Friendly service, comfortable modern planes. Only other option for us was United, so we were very happy with qantas!

Check airlinquality.com for airline rankings.

Quantas is ranked 4th in quality after Singapore, Qatar, and Cathay Pacific in the entire world. Not a bad ranking!

Quantas is also a 4star in the rankings (the other three above are 5star).

Have travelled on Quantas and wouldn't hesitate to fly them again.

I've flown the LA to Sydney route with Qantas and have no problem with them at all. Actually they probably beat the service that most American air lines offer (and I've used most of them).

Enjoy your time in OZ and your flight.

My wife's from Melbourne and we connect through LAX to the Qantas flight there, or to Air New Zealand, everytime we go back.

Great service, no attitude that we've experienced personally. Service is head and shoulders over any US carriers that I've flown (all of the majors at one point or another.) Seats themselves are comfortable but not quite as roomy as American - about as much room as say, Delta or United. Individual screens in the seat backs, even in coach have a good selection of movies and TV shows - different ones each way. Also a variety of games in the entertainment system.

Plus, safety-wise they have never had a crash. I'd say their prices are competive, for that fact that there isn't a tremendous number of carriers going direct US-Australia. Pretty much ANZ and United are your other choices.

Have a great trip to Oz. I love it there.

We flew on Qantas going to Melbourne. It was by far the most comfortable overseas trip we have taken. The seats were spacious with good tush and leg space. The food was pretty good. Enjoy your trip!

Another thumbs up for Quantas! The service was fantastic. I usually don't get excited about air travel, but Quantas made an unbearably long flight extremely bearable!
And what was it that Rainman said about Quantas? : )

I flew Quantas to and around Australia.
The only thing I would suggest is that you order special meals. I remember that one of the meal choices for those who did not have special meals was fish or pork (NO chicken or veggie). Also, people with special meals get fed first.
