Yes, ChristieP., please tell your husband thank you for the enormous service he provides this country. We appreciate him. Bless you both!

And, gc, thanks for sharing that wonderful news about your daughter. Nothing makes a parent prouder than occasions like the one you're getting ready for!

And Dan, many congratulations!

Leaving sunny California at the end of the month to see my Mom for a few days in Philly, my Dad for a few days in CT, and then to Corning, NY/Lawerenceville PA for some rest and relaxation at my awesome family cabin in the woods. YEA!!!! I can not wait.

Going with my best friend (since high school, and we're now in our 60s - but we don't look it! ) for a weekend in the Buffalo area. There's a huge outdoor antique show in Clarence, and let's hope the weather is decent. The rest of the weekend will be at the outlet mall, other than the time we spend watching dumb movies on TV and giggling like the teenagers we still think we are.

I'm going to Baltimore with my son and his 5th grade class. Not as exciting as the rest of places you all are going!

I am going to Washington, DC (every day to work).

Today I went to Annapolis on a day tour run by the Smithsonian. We had an informative architectural tour of the old homes (exteriors only) and got to ride the two masted schooner Sultana. Of course, I signed up for that schooner ride. It was even better than expected. It was even more fun than anticipated. The interior is restored so that you can see how the sailors really lived in those ships. We also netted some fish (catch and release) and discussed the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay and 18th century methods of navigation (they got lost a lot).

If you are in the Annapolis area, check out and see if the Sultana is going to be in port. It is a fun way to spend a few hours! While the boat today was entirely charterd for my tour, it is available to the general public at other times.

Did I say I love to be on the water? Fun, fun, fun.

Leaving Memphis on 15 May to fly to Reno, NV. Staying in Stateline, NV, in a timeshare unit for 6 days: planning lots of sightseeing around Lake Tahoe. Going to Buck Meadows, CA, on 22 May, from where we'll enter Yosemite via CA SR 120. Staying in Yosemite Valley for 3 nights: planning lots of sightseeing throughout the park, depending on what the weather allows; anticipating gorgeous waterfalls. Going to San Francisco on 26 May for 5 nights. Will fly back to Memphis on Memorial Day.
