Private Schools in Long Island (south shore)

We are considering moving to Amityville but heard the schools are just horrid. Any suggestions on top rate private schools and/or state special program schools?
Tips or advice appreciated.

Sarah:

Newsday, a Long Island newspaper, has extensive information on schools, school districts, reading scores, etc. in its real estate section. Try this link, its at the bottom of the page: www.newsday.com/business/realestate

Try working with a real estate broker who is a relocation specialist. They will have all this info and more.

For one, unless you absolutely MUST, I would not move to Amityville! The area is quite run-down and shall we say, not at all a nice place to live. Have you considered the North Shore instead or maybe something all little farther West on the Soth Shore?

There's a reason they call it the "Amityville Horror". If you are going to living "ON" Long Island, it's "on" not "in".

You might want to check out Hicksville and Jericho. They have excellent public schools. And they are close enough to Amityville, I believe.
