I have, but it was a number of years ago. At that time, it was quite nice. One thing I remember is that they served afternoon tea that included a delicious lemon cake roll. The rooms were decorated with portraits of various U.S. presidents.

Have you tried TripAdvisor for reviews? That might be of help to you.
We visited Savannah for the first time a couple of years ago, but stayed at the Ballastone, which we loved. I have a file I put together on the city when planning our trip. If you'd like it, e-mail me.

A new Savannah businessman owner has updated that beautiful property with tailored decor, fresh landscaping in the courtyard garden, and retained the former owner of Hamilton-Turner Inn (who also owned Magnolia Place Inn) as executive innkeeper. The downtown, historic district location is unbeatable, especially with on-site parking and quiet setting. The staff's top notch recommendations are right on to meet traveler preferences. Ask for one of the rooms with a balcony and private entrance. Every room has elevator access as well. They do not serve afternoon tea, but have pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres with wine, plus a local sweet left with nightly turndown. It's becoming a movers and shakers hub, and preference for upscale travelers who appreciate just the right amount of personal attention and a southern-style greeting.

Tarasbrat - Your answers to all of my questions have been outstanding and very informative. Thank you so much for your time. Do you have any other tips and ideas for a 1st time visitor on a far too short 3-day visit?
We are coming down from Parris Island on a Friday after a Boot Camp Graduation. We might stop in Beaufort on the way. We are planning on doing a carriage tour on Saturday. Maybe doing lunch Friday at Walls, Saturday at the Crab Shack on Tybee. Dinners so far are being planned for the Olde Pink House and maybe the Lady and sons though I am skeptical about the reservation process... I am currently reading "the book." ha ha ha... any other good places for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner? How about good bars/music?
Thanks
J

I've stayed there twice but it's been several years--the last time was probably 3 1/2 years ago. Our first visit was better than the 2nd, but I would guess with the new owner and updates, everything is very nice. We enjoyed both stays but just felt things were a little "off" on the 2nd visit.
At the time of our visits, the thing that appealed to us greatly was that breakfast could be served in your room--you just left a slip on the door telling them the time. We liked that b/c we're not really into eating with strangers early in the morning. The food was always delivered on time and was delicious.
The rooms were LARGE and very comfortable. It was nice to have a mini frig in the bathroom too. I liked the location and found it easy to walk to other areas of Savannah, plus the free parking was great!
