Pre-show Dinner in Ft. Lauderdale

I have tickets for an 8:00 p.m. Thursday performance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. I'd like to be able to park my car once and walk to dinner and the theater. Can you recommend a local restaurant that has good food and service? Any cuisine, price range okay. Thanks for the help!

The River House restaurant is very nice and located very near the Performing Arts Center.

There are many other choices in the Himmarshee District which is downtown and where the Broward Center is located. Another choice which is less upscale might be Creolina's for some Cajun/Creole selections. My choice would be River House.

Forgot to add that there are several parking lots available in the Himmarshee District as well as a parking garage just before you enter the district. All are within a reasonable walking distance with the garage being the least convenient.

HarryR: Could you tell me more about the River House Restaurant.Expensive?, outside dining? We may give it a try on our upcoming FLL trip.

jd - The entrees range from mid $20's to low $30's. There is also a Sunday brunch that is supposed to be very good for around $25. There is a summer prix-fixe menu where two can dine for $39.95 for appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. The same people also run Tarpon Bend in the Himmarshee District.
There is outside dining overlooking the New River.

I second the River House. It's in an old house, and you can eat outside or inside. There are many different rooms to eat inside. It's overlooks the river. You can walk to the theater after that.
