Post Archiving Problem - Anybody Else?
I was just looking for a post I made (I did not start the thread) to see if anybody added to that specific thread. It was within the past week or two.
I went to Advanced Search, put my name in the Member Name box, changed the starting date from 09/27/2013 to 09/10/2014.
Nothing came up.
So I started to go back a month at a time and it wasn't until I went back at least 6 months that threads with any of my posts came up.
I don't even remember the State it was in so I'm putting this in states that I have frequented recently.
Anybody else have that issue?

I've noticed that Fodors has stopped indexing posts on another board, and it's been quite a while. So they don't show up in a search. Maybe it's all boards, don't know. That isn't any way to run an online forum, that should be done fairly frequently for it to be useful, it shouldn't be a difficult task to do.
I just checked and it couldn't find a post I started in August with a word that was even in the title.
If you want to find your own posts, that is super easy. Just click on your icon on the upper rightside under "Welcome" and it lists every post you've started and made. That is up-to-date. It should be very easy to find something you posted on within the last week.

There is a thread about this on the Help forum - the thread's been going for weeks. No update from staff recently.
No, the forums have not been indexed for months. That is why when spammers want to attack the boards, it is usually on really old threads. Like the 'Denver ' guy a few weeks ago, he searched and pulled up every ancient thread with Denver in the title to top, but no threads from 2014.

I'm able to find the thread I was looking for. The problem is that if you don't know that indexing of threads and posts hasn't been taking place, you don't know that your search is quite incomplete.

Good to know. Using the advanced search, I was trying to find any recent posts from a member - and came up with nothing. If I happened to come across a thread that they posted to while I was just "perusing" threads, and if I clicked on their name - there were plenty of posts by this person.
Is FODORS trying to fix this???
