Portland only or Kennebunkport too?

I´m going on a cruise in October and one of the ports is Portland. Should I visit Portland only or take a tour with Portland highlights + Kennebunkport?

Do the Portland highlights w/ Kennebunkport. Portland is a pretty city, but unless you want to shop, it won't take you long to take it in. Kennebunkport is a cool old town with lots of history. Maybe they will drive you by Walker's point to look at the Bush's summer place, if that would interest you at all. With or without that, I'd do the tour.

Its an hour ride one way from Portland to Kport, so you might want to consider whether you want to spend that much time on a bus, depending on the weather. Portland is just a small city, but great shops in the Old Port, a fine art museum a 10 min walk from the port, and some interesting history. They will probably also have a trip to Freeport for LLBean and outlet shopping if you're into that.

Cindyj,
Yes, they have a tour to LLBean, but I want to be as far as possible from shopping, otherwise I´ll buy more than I need.
Thanks

I did the Kennebunkport option, from a cruise ship, and really enjoyed it. They did take us by the Bush compound. As for being on the bus, the guide was so interesting, that time flew by. Interesting stories about the Bush family.
