Could any one tell me how far the Port Auth.is from the Hilton Times Square. Is it walkable with luggage.

It is walkable with luggage you can carry. If you need to pull the luggage behind you the walk could be difficult (so many walkers you'll be tripping people - and lots of curbs to negotiate).

It's one long block, certainly walkable.

Actually, I'd call it half of a long block, as you can enter from 42nd Street almost exactly half way between 7th and 8th -- and Port Authority is on the corner of 42nd and 8th. If you can pull your luggage from wherever you get off a bus to the taxi stand, you're probably already half way there!

There is also an entrance into the Hilton on 41st Street, which will be easier to navigate with luggage - not as busy as 42nd. The Port Authority runs from 40th to 42nd St along 8th Ave. so it's just as easy to get to 41st and then head towards 7th Ave.

Actually, spring, when we were there this summer, the construction on 41st St. sidewalks made navigating nearly impossible. You had to cross to the south side of 41st to even get through. Maybe that's easier now, but even though 42nd is busy, the sidewalks are very wide and easy with luggage.
