Port Aransas or Galveston, TX?

Planning a road trip from San Antonio, Tx but can't decide which beach to go to. We will be there thurs-sun. There are no kids traveling with us, just 7 adults (between ages 22-33). Looking for beach activities and nightlife (preferably on or close to the beach). So, Port A or Galveston?

Definitely Port A! Port Aransas has 18 miles of driveable beach, nice soft sand and lots of nightlife with live music on the waterfront. Perfect destination for adults!

Both are interesting and different. Galveston has some neat history, the beaches are better in PA, and I enjoy it more...more laid back...fun to see what the fishing boats bring in or mosey out on a pier and watch. Galveston has great aquarium, historical area. Some finer hotels, and great food at both, really. G is more city-ish, PA more a fishing town on a long, nice texas beach. I think G is more commercial. We prefer PA for a more relaxed time. I can think of nightlife in PA, but, maybe a few places. More in G. Either are fun tho!!!
