pool at kiahuna Plantation Poipu beach

looking for a condo on the beach in Kauai where we can swim at the beach. daughter and 2 grand daughters so need a 2 bedroom. As I recall, the pool at the Kianhuna was up at the golf course. Is that correct? DH and I stayed there 20 years ago and enjoyed the location but cannot remember a pool. Even though it is on the beach, I loke haaving a pool as well. anyone know. their resort diagram didn't show a pool........

Dang - you are testing my hazy memory - but don't believe Kianhana plantation is that close to the beach? Great place/golf course - but not right on the Ocean?

I am much more readily familiar with the other end of the Island - our favorite - the North Shore - and Princeville/Hanalei - so suggest you google and google, and also check other threads in here under Poipu to find something close/on the beach.

Check out places such as the Lawai Beach Resort - just down the road, which has a couple of pools. http://www.lawaibeach.org/

It has probably been about six years since we stayed at Kiahuna but it was one of our favorite stays in Hawaii. Kiahuna is on the beach, but the pool is a bit of a walk (or short drive) on the other side of the road. It is not very convenient so if a pool is important you may want to look elsewhere. My sons were probably 12 & 9 at the time and they were happy hanging out on the beach so the pool wasn't a priority for us.

The attached map should help. Look toward the top on the right side.

do not care for the Lawai beach resort. No beach there. the pool is just for the 6 yr old who likes to swim in pool. Prefer being on the beacch and not having to drive to get to it like at Lawai or some of the other condo. Thanks for the map. I thought the pool was across the street.

You might want to take a look at the Marriott Waiohai next door to Kiahuna. The condos are large two bedrooms, the grounds are very pretty, it's on a great beach and has very nice pools at the beach. The one negative is that the interior decor is "generic Marriott". (I.e. not very "Hawaiian"). The travelers photos on Trip Advisor are very accurate.

Several years ago we stayed at the Alihi Lani, which is just down the road from the Kiahuna Plantation. It is just across the road from a rocky coastline. It is a short walk to the Sheraton, which has a nice beach. We had a 2 bedroom condo and it was great with the kids. It has only 6 units and a pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
