Please top some Charleston, SC, info for me!
It has been a number of years since I have been to Charleston and the real icee and I have never been together.
While we are in Myrtle at Thanksgiving, we have decided to drive down to Charleston for a couple of days.
We will be staying down on Bay Street at The Lodge Alley Inn (I know they will hound me to death to do a ts presentation), but we already own thru Bluegreen, so I got an absolutely awesome rate without using my time.
Has anyone eaten at The High Cotton Restaurant? Also, has anyone done one of the demonstrations of Charleston Cooks! at the Maverick Kitchen Store. The one they would be doing when we are there is "Taste of the Lowcountry".
And food...........eat where that is near our hotel? We want to be able to just park the car and walk.
We will have an afternoon and one full day. Please top all of the great Charleston reports and I will read and search.
All ideas are appreciated!

I live N.Charleston and here are my favorite restaurants.
Cypress- fried brie and tuni- to die for
SNOB- I love the lunch specials, mussels, all seafood, wonderful cobbler
Cru- eat at the chef's bar- best dessert-Orange sherbet cake
Sermets- great chicken ravoli
I love the Sat. market on Marion Square-
There is a stand called Bertollini which sells great homemade pasta. If fact, 90% of chefs in Charleston use it on their menu. I buy several dozen and freeze them.
Hope this helps ---

Next door to Alley Inn is Magnolias which is one of my favorites. I did a time share presentation of Alley Inn which is very nice and received enough money as a reward to have dinner for 4 of us at Magnolias.
I live in N. Myrtle Beach and have enjoyed so many trip to Charleston.
Take a carriage ride as that will help reintroduce you to the city.
Charleston is always so much fun to wander to look at the beautiful homes.
