Please help with VT, NH & Maine lodging !

My wife and I will be driving from NYC to Stowe VT, the White Mountains and Ogunquit or Kennebunkport next month. I know we are planning rather last minute but that can't be helped. Can anyone please recommend any places to stay in these areas, I have searched through the forums and web and there is just so much info that I am a bit overwhelmed. We would like to spend $100-150, this wouldn't have seemed to be that difficult but since we're going the week before Memorial Day the rates seem to be higher. We're not picky, but it's our anniversary and I was hoping to find some place with nice views instead of the usual motel. Sorry for the long mail but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT would meet your requirements. Georgeous scenery, lovely rooms, and great food will make your stay a memorable experience.

Try the Hartwell House Inn in Ogunquit--they might have some rooms still available at the higher end of your range. Before Memorial Day should still be considered Spring rather than higher summer rates

Our favorites: Gables Inn (Stowe), Sunset Hill House (White Mountains), Cape Arundel Inn (Kennebunkport), Terrace by the Sea (Ogunquit; try for Room #1).

Also, in Ogunquit is the Anchorage-by- the-Sea, has indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi's and is access to the Marginal Way to Perkin's Cove. Very clean and nice rooms too. We stayed in their property across the street which is owned by them too, and our room had a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi tub.

Just up the road from Ogunquit and not quite as touristy/expensive.

Lafayette's is nice. Most anything right on the water is nice there.
