I think it's always possible to find a "crappy" job. It's a good job that's hard to find.

There are busses in that area. I wouldn't call it great public transport, but it can work.

Bicycle? Not for me, I'd probably have a heart attack trying to ride one in that traffic.

I've driven to Jury Duty to the LAX courthouse on Imperial Blvd. a couple times. There are some motels on Aviation Blvd. which is on the border of El Segundo and Inglewood. I have no idea the prices, but you can check. The airport and 105 freeway surround the courthouse. You could ride a bike in the half mile to mile distance. Not much around there, but aerospace buildings and on ramps.

On Aviation Blvd. there is:
Twin Towers Motel
11706 N Aviation Blvd
Inglewood,
(310) 643-5384 or

LAX Suites
11838 N Aviation Blvd
Inglewood,
(310) 643-9905

A better area would be El Segundo, but lodging would cost more than $50.

Ramada Plaza Hotel
5250 W El Segundo Blvd
Hawthorne, CA 90250
(310) 536-9800

Good luck.

Your best chance of finding lodging for $50/night would be a priceline bid.

public transportation (busses) in the airport area is plentiful, though woefully poor in keeping on schedule. a bike is possible, but you must be very careful because people are crazy drivers out here- esp on those busy streets. invest in a good helmet and a good bike lock-- most buildings don't have bike racks outside of them, unfortunately, nor do most parking garages provide spaces to park bicycles.
