Please help decide between two NYC hotels

We are a party of 2 middle age adults and 2 senior adults arriving in October. We are looking at using hotel points so we are limited to choices. We have narrowed down the options as Distrikt Hotel 342 W. 40th Street or Comfort Inn Midtown West 548 West 48th Street. We will have less than 24 hours to tour NYC before departing on a cruise out of Manhattan terminal and want to get a quick view of Times Square, Central Park, World Trade Memorial etc.. We would like to walk to Times Square and take bus/subway system from there to other areas. Thank you for any suggestions on which hotel we should stay at.

The Distrikt is a MUCH MUCH nicer hotel and much closer to a subway which is the fastest way to get around. That Comfort Inn is newer and closer to the pier, but much further from the nearest subway stop and therefore not very convenient. Map them both on maps.google.com and notice where the blue "m"s are- the subway stations. You will need tickets for the 9/11 memorial which can be ordered from 911memorial.org or you can use the nywatertaxi.com hop on/off ticket and get them that way.

I would go with the Distrikt. The location is better for what you want to see, and it gets good ratings on TA. A word of caution on your plans to see Central Park, World Trade Memorial,Times Square and other sights in 24 hours - make sure you plan ahead because some of these sights are at the opposite ends of Manhattan and even subway travel can be time consuming. Have fun!!

Make sure you book your 9/11 Memorial tickets in advance.
