Could you fly into Phoenix and out of Las Vegas or the other way round?
What do you plan to do at the Grand Canyon. If you plan on some walks into the Canyon then it justifies spending more time there but if you just want to see the viewpoints then one night or two is enough.

If you really want to see something try this.
Fly to Vegas, rent car and drive to Springdale(Best Western)at the entrance of Zion N.Park. Visit Zion. Then drive to Bryce Canyon.Visit.Then by way of Page(lake Powell) to south rim Grand can.In Tusayan just at the entrance of the can. you'll find enough accomodations.Return to Vegas by way of Sedona.Paul

I agree flying into Phoenix and out of Vegas would be best. I think Paul has a great idea but adding Bryce and Zion would not make for a relaxing 10 day trip. I agree with the 3 nights at each location strategy.
In Vegas I was very happy staying at the Barbary Coast which is in the center of the strip with a victorian theme.
