I just Googled hotels in Spring Green, WI can came up with several, and would suggest, The House on the Rock Resort, it lists for $195 a night. This place is amazing, and a fun day touring. There were several other motels and Inns that you might check as well.

Hope this helps.

I'd go back to Madison and stay there. Better restaurants and more to do.

Check out the Don Q Inn in Dodgeville...fun specialty suites (cave room). Boeing jet parked on the front lawn. Eclectic kind of place.

Ew - I hated the House on the Rock. All that stuff crammed into several buildings. Too much junk for me I second the Madison recommendation.

I also hate the House on the Rock. Too many things on display out of context. Some things should just been left in their place and not hauled into Wisconsin for people than never leave the area.

I strongly believe this but would not have posted this if it would not for the candor of the previous poster. Put it this way, if you have done some travelling in your life, you will be shocked, disappointed to see what has been brought back for display in Wisconsin.

You nailed it. It is so tacky. You could stay on the west side of Madison (middleton) nice hotels there it isnt' a bad drive from APT. we live near there and make the drive all the time. Stay in Mad town, visit the sat am Farmers Market, visit Cesar Peli's Overture center (the Louvre) visit Monona Terrace-- Frank Lloyd Wright designed. Hit the great restaurants.. Other than golfing at The Springs and APT I'm out of there.

Just my opinion, but we think House on the Rock is amazing! We travel extensively and this is a real jewel.
We're even going back this Fall for a 2nd visit. If you go, go with the expectation of seeing some things you've never seen before and seeing some things that you won't need to look at while you're there. It's a large window into human culture.
It seems like we stayed at the Country Inn & Suites.
Are you visiting Tallesin? The tour of Wright's home & studio is very interesting.
