Big Island-Kauai Flights

Are there any direct flights from either of the Big Island airports to Kauai? Everything I have found stops in Honolulu. Does that sound correct?

I'2.......I think that you are pretty much stuck with going thru HNL. There are non stops from Maui-Kauai, but from the BI to Kauai, nope. Does this mean that you will be late for the Kauai GTG?

They do stop there(Aloha airlines did). But, it was only a 20 minute layover and we stayed on the plane. It's sort of like a bus stop to let people on & off the plane. It really wasn't bad. Anyway, it's worth the trip!

Lin....as far as I can tell, Aloha has no non-stop or direct flights from the BI to Kauai.

no direct flights from the b.i. to kauai, all flights stop in honolulu and anywhere from 30 min to 90 minute layover.

Good news in one of this morning's Honolulu newspapers!!

Aloha Airlines, which stopped flying directly between neighbor islands more than two years ago, will restart limited service in September in a move that will put it in direct competition with former sister carrier Island Air and larger rival Hawaiian Airlines.

The new routes will include twice-daily nonstop flights between Kahului (Maui) and Lihue (Kauai), as well as between Kahului and Kona (Hawai`i island). The direct flights on Aloha's 127-seat Boeing 737-200s will allow passengers to bypass a stop in Honolulu.
