Pittsburgh hotel help
Need a hotel in Pittsburgh for an emergency trip there this week. I will mostly be in the Mount Lebanon area. Is downtown convenient? Or are there any hotels near Mt. Lebanon or South Hills area?
TIA!

I grew up near that area, and I can't for the life of me recall there EVER being any good lodging in that town. There is a nearby Ramada in Bethel Park (on Ft. Couch Rd.), but it's frankly awful. You may end up staying downtown. Pittsburgh, unfortunately, is poorly-served vis-à-vis good hotels.

OK I grew up here and I can't think of any hotels in Mt. Lebanon, however there are two hotels, A Days Inn and a Comfort Suits on Banksville Road. They are not by any stretch fancy places, but they are convenient to Mt. Lebanon. Downtown is about 15 minutes from Mt. Lebanon and there you will find The Westin, The William Penn and The Hilton. Those are the only ones I an think of right now. There is also the newly renovated Sheraton in Station Square which is on the other side of the river. And as some one mention there are a few hotel in Greentree, not far from Mt. Lebanon either. The two that come to mind is the Radison and the Holiday Inn. Good luck and have a good time in Pittsburgh.
