Hello PamSF, I was so interested in your receipe for steamed asapargus with fried eggs and parmasean cheese on top etc. because several years ago I had friends from Castlefranco Italy stay with us.

This is a dish that they prepared for us. But they are not Jewish but Catholic. They said this receipe was "typical of how they prepared the asparagus in their town". Radicchio was also originally only from Castlefranco.

I would imagine (but do not know) that Jews many decades or centuries ago introduced this wonderful receipe to Castlefranco?

Because I am allergic to dairy products they prepared mine minus the cheese. My husband absolutely loved this dish, as I did although I did not have the cheese on it. So you can see why I was interested in your post.

Pammer....some of my best friends are Italians.

We'll wave at you guys as we pass on thru on I 80.

Our family is lactose intolerant, too.
In fact when we take a family picture we can't even say "cheese".

Kal~Kisses to you and M.
We're having salmon on Sunday for Seder dinner with a "new" Pinot Noir-Londer 2002 from the Anderson Valley. Oh my darling, such a bottle of wine. It might be a contender for the Yountville GTG "warm-up" wine.

We'll count you among our blessings.
