"Fire season" is nearly year-round now, but the chances of fires in the metro L.A. area in January are very low. The greater risk is rain and then mud slides in the burn areas (which are nowhere near Pasadena/San Marino).

Fires stop when rain starts, so keep an eye on the weather. Nothing is certain these days but you should be fine by Jan.
