My husband was in another NYC hospital for several weeks. I parked the car in the garage across from the emergency room. When I took the car out several weeks later the bill was over $500 to be paid in cash, no credit card. Great advice to rent a car and then rent for the return. You cannot get monthly rates for one month. Good luck to you and your husband. It is wonderful to go to a major hospital which has the most experienced staff. I found I took cabs everyday to the hospital since I was too eager to get there in the morning and too emotionally spent to wait for a bus to go home.

Oops! Not $500, but $1500. Sounds impossible but that's what happened. I can hardly believe that I paid that, but I had other things to think about.
