Which area would you want in Philly, how nice is your nice vehicle, are you just looking for a parking lot or something else, is cost a factor, etc?

VERY nice! Thinking of taking train into NYC, and don't want to pay huge price but don't want vechile damaged in any way. (Husband would divorce me and son would, well... who knows) Is there safe guarded parking near train station? Thanks so much.

are you taking the train from downtown ?

can you leave the car at home and take SEPTA ? (a friend can drive you to the SEPTA line ?) or a cab/car service ?

might be worth the peace of mind....

I assumed leaving from 30th street... I meant take SEPTA to there and then Amtrak... since I assume that's what you are doing ?

Ummmm...having lived in Center City, can't say I know of any specific parking lot that caters to only the "VERY nice" vehicles. So you may have to find an indoor garage where you might have to park next to some riff raff driving a VW Jetta or (gasp!) a Ford Escort.

There are plenty of options for indoor parking garages (valet or self-park) in the area around 30th Street Station. If your very nice vehicle needs to be surrounded by BMWs, Jags or Mercedes, maybe you'll feel better if you let the valet at The Rittenhouse or Four Seasons hotel park your car for you and take a $5 cab ride to 30th Street to catch your train. Just be sure to tip the valet an extra $20 and tell him to keep your car away from any undesirable make and model!

we just returned from Philadelphia and were surprised at the cost of overnight parking -- much higher than anticipated.

You can park your car at the 30th Street Station in the underground parkade, although space is very limited. There is another fenced-in lot on the right side of the station.

You could park at an area hotel, like the Holiday Inn at 13th/Chestnut and take a cab to the station. The price to park in this garage is reasonable.

Four Seasons and Rittenhouse
parking is $$$$$.

I assume you live somewhere in the Philly area?

Just take a regional rail train to 30th street and get a ride to your local train station and leave the car at home.
