Parking at Muir Woods, mid-morning on a Monday?

We're taking the first flight out of the East Coast, (supposedly) landing in SFO at 9:30am on a Monday morning in mid-June. After picking up a rental car, we were thinking of stopping by Muir Woods for a hike before heading out to Wine Country. Do we have a chance at finding parking at Muir Woods (I guess it'll be mid- to late-morning by the time we can get there), or should we not even bother? We'd rather not venture up the windy road if we're just going to have to turn around once we get there. (We're not sure we can squeeze in a trip to Armstrong Redwoods, otherwise we'd opt for that instead.) Thanks for the input!

I don't think parking will be a problem. You may end up parking on the road rather than the main lot.
SFO is on the other side of town and the drive will be an hour or more right through the city on surface streets. The road is not difficult and it is well marked once you cross The Golden Gate.

When the lot fills up they put up a sign directing you to a park and ride lot for the shuttle. BTW. The shuttle was a great investment. Lots less stress than parking on the road and walking.

W/ a 9:30 arrival by the time you get your bags and to the rental cars and on your way it will likely be nearly 11:30 - noon-ish before you get to the park.

It will take nearly an hour from SFO to the parking area.

We were there recently on a Tuesday at 4 PM and had our choice of parking at the entrance, so if your plane is delayed, you will probably be fine. We were surprised at the quality of the food, service and Eco-friendliness of the little cafe inside the park, so you could have a quick lunch there if needed. ( salads, sandwiches, etc).

You will have to look up how much it cost. I think it was $3 each and they didn't have change, but it has been nearly two years.

Okay, I will check. We're a family of 5 so these things add up.

Thanks for all the info! Does the shuttle you're referring to run on weekdays? The only shuttle info I could find was for a weekend/holiday route. I appreciate the help!
