Paris Las Vegas or MGM Grand

My husband and I are travelling to Las Vegas for a conference and will be staying in Las Vegas from February 15 and leaving February 22. It is our first time there. We managed to get similar deals for Paris Las Vegas and MGM Grand (approx $1300) but can't decide!

Any suggestions - pros and cons are so appreciated!!!

I prefer Paris due to the hotel itself as well as the restaurants. MGM is just too big for my liking.

If it's your first time, then I'd go for Paris and try to get a fountain view room. Catching the Bellagio fountain show from your room at night is very nice.

Between those two- Paris absolutely.

MGM does have some very good restaurants but overall Paris has it. Paris has nice rooms, good location if you want to be mid-Strip, and I REALLY liked its casino and won. LOL!

Really, its casino is lower noise and not as hyper, IMHO. For a first time the mid area is great because you will want to see both directions. Plus you are there for a longer time than most and will have the time to see either direction or downtown.

Myself, I think MGM has the best sports book of all or maybe close behind Caesar's. But the colors in that place and the size make me want to put on blinders on the way to the restaurants- which are good.

The only other thing I liked about the MGM was that being at the end of the Strip- you can access it by car the easiest, if you will find yourself driving to Hoover Dam or out of the area a bunch. You can access the garage yourself from a sidestreet. This is not true of the Paris section- car access is much harder.

I myself like the Rio/ Palms area off the Strip or the Orleans now. Better poker too. Less density, better service all around. But you only have asked about these two and it is your first time.

Paris is also nearer to the Venetian, Caesar's and lots of the more beautiful
newer places.

I've stayed in the MGM, but I agree with the others; choose Paris. Its few cons are easily outweighed by location alone, not to mention that it has more of the current theme-park/city Las Vegas feel.

just in case you are still undecided: PARIS! PARIS !! PARIS!!!

You will of course visit all the hotels you have time for, and be sure to including the MGM Grand (Lions & some good food)- But then you will be glad you didn't stay there.

Hands down PARIS with its lovely and upscale ambience....in contrast to the overwhelmingly large but nondescript MGM Grand. We walked (and walked) through the place and couldn't wait to get out of there.

Wouldn't matter if MGM was half the price...you'd hate MGM...it's a monster! Paris is adorable...quaint, across the street from the Forum Shops, Bellagio, next to Aladdin Passage Shops, Mon Ambi and Eiffel Tower wonderful restaurants, Breakfast Buffet Best in LV...we are comped anywhere we want, and we always want Paris!!! Enjoy

oh, it's NOT a monster! It just is not as 'special' as many others are. It's decent.

Paris!! You have to go to the breakfast buffet there. Incredible! Location of Paris is more central, and MGM is too big (as previously said)

Hi Chocolat--thanks for the update. It's always nice to know what someone has decided to do. We have stayed at Paris, Alladin, Caesar's Luxor and Venetian. Paris is our favorite!! Do not miss the breakfast buffet, as cited above. In the row of shops the Creperie charges around $4 and up for crepes, whereas many of the same ones are available in the flat rate of the buffet. They are wonderful as are the croissants--the best I have had outside of the real Paris!!
