Hi,
I went for the first time ever to Vegas last month, and stayed in the Venetian. We had a fabulous time, but I'm not sure that the Venetian was worth the extra money. Paris seemed to be in the kind of location that I want, and I really liked the bars and restaurants there (i like to mooch around bars, and do stuff on foot or by taxi) so I was hoping that someone could give me an idea of what Paris is like to stay at? I would guess its not as luxurious as the Venetian puports to be, but then I'm not sure that the Venetian is, either!!

Paris is nice. My son just stayed there and said you could hear the wind through the structure at night, though. It kept him awake.

There are a bunch of Las Vegas hotel threads on this board and you can search Paris/ Las Vegas and get timely opinions from just last week.

If you are just going to "hang" where you stay, then you will be more apt to concern yourself about the location etc. etc. But if you are active and roam, it matters little. Things are not all that far apart. I'm no spring chicken and I've walked from Stardust to Luxor in one day stopping all the way.

I have been to Vegas at least 15 times in 20 years and I have never hung around the place I stayed. I go to shows etc. all over the place. It's easy.

Actually if you are young, the young 20's seem to love Hard Rock (Body Something bar), Palm, Rio (Voodoo Lounge) and several other "hanging" spots.

We loved loved loved staying at the Paris Hotel. The location is perfect, the casino is a manageable size, the restaurants are fantastic, and our standard room was very nice. The salon and spa services were overpriced, although I imagine they're not alone. I have not stayed at the Venetian, but DH has, and he won't pay the extra for the Venetian again.

The Paris is one of, if not my favorite place to stay on the strip! I have not experienced the Venetian over night. Try it, I bet you like it!

This past summer my BF came to visit and we got a room at Paris. It was wonderful, as was the staff and the restaurants. I'd stay there again in a minute, and I LIVE in Las Vegas! As a AAA member, I got a great rate on the room. The location couldn't be beat.

Another vote for Paris! We stayed 3 nights this past July and just loved it...We had 2 rooms (3 kids) on the 17th floor with a fabulous view of the pool, Eiffel tower, and of course the Bellagio fountains. At night, we could hear the music from the fountain, the wind was our direction. The 104 degree days were spent beside the large pool, with plenty of chairs, towels and even floats. I loved the pool misters, piped in music, and a great snack bar right there. My husband has stayed at Venetian, and says for the amount of time in room, Paris is just fine. The Paris bathrooms are huge with separate tub and showers.

The Paris is a great hotel. I stayed there a couple of years ago, and got a very nice suite. The buffet is completely different to other standard Vegas buffets, and really good, too.

For some reason, I just don't like the casino, though...

Oh, and please, go to Cirque du Soleil's Ka at the MGM. It is beyond belief.

Would you consider the real Paris? It has always been my dream to go and it will be a reality in May.

I have been trying to get the Venetian for $100 on Priceline and have not suceeded...

my Backup is the Luxor, and I decided to ditch my Luxor 2 nights @ $85 per night for Paris @ $119. I think the location and 'ambiance' is worth the
extra $ per night. I know you don't spend that much time in the room, but the Luxor is so far down the strip.
I would rather be mid-strip, and love the area there across from Bellagio!!

I am now so excited!

I'm reminded of the time we stayed at Bally's. They were just building Paris right next door, but I hadn't heard anything about it. We arrived rather late at night, checked in, and went to bed. Imagine my shock when I got up in the morning, opened the draperies and was staring at the Eiffel Tower out my window.
