Parents 40th Anniversary Trip

I am trying to plan a 40th anniversary trip for my parents sometime this summer and don't know where. They are in their 70's and live in Florida and Chicago and would like to send them somewhere that's convenient and doesn't require a ton of walking.
Is Las Vegas easy for seniors to get around? Too hot in summer? Any suggestions for any destination would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Danielle,
My sisters and I gave our folks a trip to Maine for the 50th, and they really enjoyed it. We each chose a bed and breakfast, and picked three different spots along the coast and gave them two nights at each spot, ending by Acadia Nat'l Park. They were probably a few years older than your folks, but they loved the trip. Summer is a perfect time to see Maine.

Thanks Lois. I'll definitely look into Maine.

Danielle, how healthy your parents are? I took my father to Vegas in October hoping the heat is over, but because of high blood pressure he had nose bleeding. So I had to keep him indoors in middle of the day what was not an easy task as he doesn't appreciate gambling

New England or Northern California (Big Sur to SF) are two great places to visit in summer. The weather is nice, but not too hot and usually never humid. In these places they could do a lot of great scenic drives and avoid wakling long distances.

Have they ever been to Boston? If not, that would be great, with a follow-up at Cape Cod. If they have, perhaps they'd enjoy Newport, RI or southern Maine (Kennebunkport).
If you think they'd love Vegas, you could give the gift on the anniversary, but schedule the trip for Oct/Nov.

Thanks to all. They are in good health but mom has a foot problem so long distances are tough.
I love all your ideas from Maine to Northern Cal and I appreciate your replies.
I may postpone the trip for fall as Go suggested.

My mom and I went to Vegas and it was very difficult for her. Way too much walking. The strip itself is quite wide and she really had to move to make it across before the light changed. I felt just awful for her.

We gave my parents a 50th anniversary trip to Bermuda. They went in early September and loved. They went on a number of tours.
