Palm Springs Restaurants

Looking for the best spots for the beginning of our 50th birthday celebration trip... We'll be staying at the Viceroy Palm Springs. 3 suggestions for great food, please... one steakhouse, one italian, and one more casual/fun. Have read about LG's in P.S. and Castelli's in Palm Desert. Many too choose from and many differing opinions out there. Further help, much appreciated!

They have a Roys (asian fusion, it is an upscale chain and food is divine) and a Flemings (steak, fish) at the River in Palm Desert. Both very nice. They also have a Sullivans (steak) and the Desert Pacifica (I think is the name of it, San Diego seafood restaurant) on El Paseo in Palm Desert.

We don't go into Palm Springs very often so can't help much with that.

The steak houses are LGs, Sullivan's, Mastro's, Flemings, and Morton's. the seafood place is Pacifica at the Gardens at El Paseo.

Some Italian places are Mama Gina's, Mimmo's, La Spiga, Castelli's..and of course restaurants like Le Vallauris have some nice Italian dishes on the menu.

Casual and fun...Le Tropicale, The Nest (very lively and decent food), Bonta in Cathedral City (Euro and Argentine food), Birba...so many places hard to know where to stop.

Look into Sopa at L'Horizon...if you want to go all out.

By the time they read this, they'll be celebrating their 60th birthdays (this thread is 10 years old).
