We will be in Palm Desert for our 54th wedding anniversary.

We would welcome suggestions for restaurants that are not too expensive. We do not have any national preferences.i.e French German etc.

You can drop a lot of money at many restaurants in Palm Desert. We enjoy the drive to the La Quinta Resort, for an evening at their Mexican Restaurant, El Adobe. Sitting on the patio sipping Margarita's, overlooks the beautiful grounds of the resort, and live music is heard nightly.
Cliff House is also moderately priced, the restaurant built into the hillside.
A funky place with good food, is The Nest, Italian and French food.
At The River, the movie complex, is Babes for BBQ food.

We have friends who often spend their anniversary at Maggio's. Italian in Palm Springs. Across from the River in Palm Desert area is Roys, one of my all time favorits. Also at the River is a Flemings. Never eaten there but I hear that it is good.

At El Paseo, further west, is Sullivan's, a steak/fish house. And Pacifica on the Beach, a local fish restaurant from San Diego. Haven't eaten there in a while, but it is always good.

There's a fun Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs called the Blue Coyote. We just ate there the other night and enjoyed it. They have patio seating, a strolling guitar-playing singer who comes around to the tables and interacts with the guests - lots of fun - and great service. The "wild" margaritas were pretty good too. The prices aren't too out of line and their menu is pretty extensive - even includes some yummy desserts. They will make your celebration special as they like to cater to their guests - just let them know when you make a reservation that it's a special dinner.

We love Roy's, and were there just two weeks ago for a special ocassion, but the bill was over $150 for two, so I didn't suggest it as being in the moderate range. Flemmings is up there too, but the steaks can't be beat.

Happy Anniversary! We also have eaten at the Blue Coyote, and enjoyed it. The food is Mexican, though, not entirely "authentic". It is tasty though, authentic or not! And, the atmosphere is fun and alive. I recommend the mango margarita, they are pretty strong and pretty tasty. Also, eat outside, near a fountain or the lit trees, the ambience is great. TROLL ALERT.

OMG the Blue Coyote is truly awful. We ate there and for southern Ca mexican food it was incredibly pitiful. The margaritas were lame but the service was ok.

54? WOW!!!! and I thought my 31 is a huge number Happy anniversary! May it be very special whatever place you choose!

ed posted this June 2005 so I think their anniversary has come and gone. In fact this June it would have been their 55th wedding annniversary. Why do they old threads keep getting pulled up?
