Palm Springs Restaurant for Christmas Dinner

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good restaurant for Christmas dinner. We've been to the usual great steak places etc but want one that would have a Christmas menu. We are staying at the Hilton resort so anything in the downtown area would be great. I have checked into LeVellauris. The revues are quite varied - from excellent to just so so and overpriced.

I have been to this wonderful restaurant many times through the years and it is one of the best there is..
I didn't find the food to be overpriced but hey, I live in Southern California..
You will have a wonderful time!

Last weekend we dined at Melvyn's in PS. I wouldn't say it is better than LeVellaris, but we had a wonderful time and delish dinners. We made our reservations in advance, as it was a weekend, and were seated promptly in the dining room. The friendly staff has been around a long time, wear tux's, and are very knowledgable. There is lots of tableside cooking going on. We had Banana's Foster for dessert and they made quite a show of flames for our granddaughter, but gave her a bowl of plain vanilla ice cream on the house. Check and see if they have a special Christmas menu.

Melvyn's was Sinatras favorite restaurant and so draws a mostly older crowd.

It would be useful if you posted a maximum price. Virtually all the top restaurants are expensive (Le Vallauris, Copley's, Zin American Bistro, etc.).

Thanks for the responses. I am not worried about price - I just mentioned that in some of the reviews some thought it was too pricey. (LeVellauris). What I am looking for is a restaurant that is excellent but will have a Christmas menu. I have actually made a reservation at LeVellauris but will call Melvyns to see what their menu is. Thanks again.
