Palm Springs/Palm Desert

We're heading to Palm Springs 4/14 and I have a few questions. I know our kids would enjoy a jeep or hummer tour in the desert. Does anybody have a recommendation on this? I've seen a couple on websites, but I like to hear other people's view points.
Also, is going up on the Tram worth it? The other day the temperature was in the thirties, which means pants and jackets. Just trying to decide if we should do that.

Thanks for your help.

I highly recommend both the Desert Adventures red jeep tours and the PS Hummer tours. Which is a matter of taste. The DA tours are more in-your-face, open air back of the jeep rides while the Hummers are luxury, air-conditioned luxury rides.

Both have naturalists that are familiar with the desert. My own preference is to feel the wind and sun on my face and smell the desert air. Regardless of your preference, with either you will finish knowing more about the desert ecology than you knew at the beginning (and that's a good thing).

Yes, the tram is worth it. The ride alone is awesome even if you just turn around and go down again. Even though it is still chilly at the top, I would not miss a picnic and hike around the desert rim trail.

Have fun and make memories.
