palm desert, CA

What is there to do in Palm Desert.
Staying at Homewood Suites, is there bus services to the Mall and Theater??
Are there any good restaurants in that area.
What others thing should we see?? We are staying for 5 weeks in the winter months.

Will you have a car? In 5 weeks, you will probably want to drive elsewhere for a day.

Will not have a car, will be using buses and cabs.

5 weeks in the desert w/o no car?

I think you need a car. There are lots of nice places for day-trips but you can't take a bus or a cab. I don't even know if there are many cabs in Palm Desert.

Its really hard to get around the desert without a car. Everything is very spread out. For example, to go from our timeshare unit at the Marriott to the nearest grocery store is a mile. To get to the nearest Denny's is 4 miles. All that's in between are housing developments and resorts.

The bus services are very infrequent. Like once an hour. And you're staying in an area of PD with few services.

I would reconsider not renting a car. Or change to a more central location.
