Outrigger Reef on the Beach in O'ahu???
Hello,
My fiance and I are trying to book our honeymoon and we are only staying in O'ahu for 2 nights and 1 1/2 days and we are looking for a resort to stay at that is reasonable and close in walking distance to nightlife, tours, and shopping. A travel agent recommended the Outrigger Reef on the Beach is this a good choice or any other suggestions would be great. We are also are going to Maui and Kauai and we just decided to add O'ahu into the plans. Thanks for any info on O'ahu!

This is a lovely resort near the Fort De Russy area of Waikiki beach [the far end from Diamond Head]. Back in about 1995 or so, I stayed at one of the smaller Outriggers just in back of it off the beach [the small ones all are a different chain now] but the deal was you could stay at any Outrigger and use any Outrigger facility. I loved the pool at the Reef and sat there many days. You are just blocks from the downtown mall, lots of restaurants, and the city bus. You can buy excursions thru the hotel, or thru vendors at the mall. You won't need a car staying there - just take an airport shuttle - not free but you will pay to park anywhere along Waikiki and don't really need it. Definitely a good choice, location and otherwise, for what you want.

If you stay at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach, make sure you go to their Serenity Spa: it is great!!! We stayed down the beach at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, but came over to the Reef twice to just have treatments at the Serenity Spa.
