Outer Banks hotel accomodations
Hi--we're 4 adults planning on being at the Outer Banks for 3 days next week, and were wondering what hotel recommendations anyone would have. We don't want to be too isolated, but also not crammed in with other people. How will the crowds be next week? We'll be out of there Fri. before Memorial Weekend kicks in. Also, how are the driving conditions, time, etc. down the stretch of the Outer Banks. Thanks for any help!

I'll try. I've only stayed at a hotel once down there, it was the Wright Brothers Quality Inn I think (one of the big chains) in Kitty Hawk right on the beach.
Almost all of the hotels are in the Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head area. You'd be safe with any of the chains, and you will want to make sure they are beach front or on the beach road, not the bypass. There may be hotels in Corolla now, the only one I know of is the Sanderling, very nice, and very expensive.
It doesn't get super crowded before Memorial day. Not sure exactly what you are looking for in regards to driving conditions and time down the stretch. The Outer banks is very long, and traffic can get heavy on the bypass road, less traffic on the beach road with a slower speed limit.
