There are Tons of things to do here. But first, what are some of your interests?

Shopping?
Theme parks?
Natural/scenic attractions?
Museums & Art galleries?

There are also a lot of restaurants here. Any specific part of town (e.g. Disney/Lake Buena Vista/I-Drive areas)?, type of food desired?, price range?

Greater Orlando is a big place. Where will you be staying and will you have a car?

If you are going to be staying near the convention center, you can easily take the I Ride Trolley <http://www.iridetrolley.com> North to the Prime Outlets or South to the Orlando Premium Outlets. There is enough shopping here to satisfy anyone. SeaWorld is also accessible via the trolley and definitely worth a day.

International Drive (I-Drive) has a lot of other stuff to do as you can see from their web site <www.InternationalDriveOrlando.com>.

Bok Sanctuary is my favorite garden in the Orlando area and a great antidote to the hypercommercialization of the theme parks.

And while it's not at the top of anyone's list for romantic restaurants, I was surprised at how good my meal was at Ming Court on International Drive. I went with a few "foodie" friends and we were all pleased. We drove, but it is near stop 24 on the I-drive Trolley.

The Prime Outlets are fantastic. I go to Orlando sometimes just to go there. Since you're so close to International Drive you are in no short supply of things to do and places to eat. I know you said Italian, but one great restaurant I always go is Bahama Breeze. If you and your husband want to go out one night for dinner you can always go to Citywalk which is connected to Universal. They have loads of restaurants including Jimmy Buffets Margharitaville and they sometimes offer packages for dinner and movie since there's also a movie theatre on site as well as dance clubs at night.

Florida Mall is a short drive from the Convention Center. One of the nicer malls anywhere.

There is a very fine Italian restaurant on Sand Lake Road on the W side of I-4 called Christinis. It's a white table cloth waiters in tuxedos place, but a good one.

You can also go to Portobellos in Pleasure Island. If the weather is nice, the outdoor tables by the lake are very pleasant. Food here is very good.
