Oregon Octoberfests/Oktoberfests

My year or two old AAA book lists a large Oktoberfest in Portland in late September. However, I can't find any info on it anywhere else. Would like to attend one there or at other places in western/coastal Oregon late September of first couple of weeks in October. I though I had seen a reference or two lately on this site, but can't find them now. Any ideas from you Oregonians?

We were out of the country last Oct/Nov so if that is when they had it , I don't remember.
But POVA is a great site, you can see what is happening all year on their calendar.

I believe companies like Widmer Brewing have occasionally celebrated Oktoberfest, but Mt. Angel's is the only one I know of that happens every year. Like sunbum says, it's a fun time.

Thanks for the information. I wonder why AAA had that wrong. The festival sounds like fun, but it is one week too early for me. Oh well, maybe some other year.

Thanks again.

I don't know if it's still going on - but the Rheinlander sponsored an Oktoberfest that was held down at Oaks Park (http://www.oakspark.com/). I'd guess that's the one they're speaking of. They may no longer be the sponsors, but I think it still happens.

There's also one in Sandy, east of Portland (http://www.sandyoktoberfestival.com/), but of course Mt. Angel is the granddaddy.

Also, found this website listing some Oregon festivals. Lots of fun sounding things, though it's last year's calendar. Links to various websites will probably tell you when and if they're happening this year.
