Oregon: Best place to stay in Bandon besides Bandon Dunes Resort

I may need to spend one night in Bandon, prior to checking into Bandon Dunes Resort (they're booked for the night in question, but I have them for two other nights).

So what's the next best place to stay?

Any thoughts on the Lighthouse B&B?

You want the Bandon Inn, owned by Ed and Peggy Backholm, if Bandon is your destination and you don't want to stay at the lodge. I cross referenced you from another thread - Bandon IS home.

Hey, shoot me that itinerary and I'll see if it makes par. I know you're working on it!

Hi Bob, thanks for the offer. Still trying to put together alternatives.

One possibility is an all day drive from Bandon to Crater Lake and on to Portland. Mapquest is saying it's a 9 hour drive, so figuring on a couple hours for lunch and a pullout or two, it would be a 7:00 to 6:00 pm day or so.

But that may be our only chance to at least "see" Crater Lake.

If we do that, what's the FASTEST way to go from Bandon to CL?
