ORD-PHL weather delays 2/22?

High winds in Chicago and a storm in PHL may delay flights today. I'm flying later today, if anyone has any updates or cancelled flights, please update. I'll do the same, thanks!

Checking flightstats.com, most flights out of ORD this morning are on-time. So far.

11.00am UA ORD LGA cancelled...AA 12.29pm LGA ODR Cancelled, due to "ORD ATC", meaning too many planes in the sky.

Thanks for the link and info, very useful.

If my flight (AA 4:30 pm) is overbooked later today due to these earlier cancellations/delays can I try to get a VDB voucher or is there no possibility since these initial delays are weather related?

Those who were on the cancelled flight will be rebooked on later flights, AA or otherwise. You will get a VDB voucher ONLY if they overbook your flight and ask for volunteers. It may not happen.

You don't get vouchers for weather-related cancellations. Trust me on this (having been screwed up on AA due to weather in December).

On seatcounter, today's AA 1768 is still showing 7s across the class. It's not fully booked, and not overbooked.

Same with 1524, the 2:15p.

Andrew,

your reply has nothing to do with what is being discussed here.....

I understand that if my flight is delayed due to weather there is no compensation.

I was just thinking that if my flight ends up being overbooked (due to earlier delays/cancellations), I had a shot at a VDB. It usually never happens when I anticipate it though...

thanks again everyone. Hopefully, I'll make it to Philly tonight.

AAFrequentFlyer, I'd say your reply has even less to do with what is being discussed here than mine. Have a great day - thanks for sharing!

Feel lucky. In December, it took me *3 days* to get from PDX to PHL with AA!!!
