One Week in AZ in April with Kids

Hi all - I'm planning a 7-night vacation with our kids, ages 8 and 11. We like good food, history, hiking. Flying into Phoenix, and planning 3 nights in Sedona and 4 in Tucson. Lots of side trips/day trips including a possible one-day GC day trip. We have two free Marriott nights and are thinking of using them either at the Courtyard Marriott in Sedona or the JW Marriott in Tucson. Any thoughts on whether this timing sounds OK? Would be very grateful for day trip and restaurant recs too! And, best places to stay (where should we use our Marriott nights?). Many thanks!

I'd take a JW over a Courtyard anytime.

So you are only flying into and out of PHX, no time there?

When in April makes a difference. I would go to Tucson 1st and then up to Sedona to try and get best weather.

Had originally planned some time in PHX, but now we're thinking it will be too rushed to move hotels 3X w/the two kids. April 14-21... We can do that - JW has availability for points 14-18 only, not 17-21. Courtyard in Sedona is brand new and looks really nice, but I hear you DebitNM. Excited to check out the Biosphere, sf 3707! It had not been on my list.

In Tucson be sure to visit Arizona Desert Museum, Sabino Canyon, Mission San Xavier. The Desert Museum is a combination of botanical garden and zoo with plants and animals appropriate to each biozone.
