One night in Charleston

My husband and I are traveling to Charleston for a weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday. We vacation there annually in the summer and know our way around pretty well. He wants to stay at Wild Dunes for two nights to get his "view of the ocean" fix. I've convinced him to spend our last night in Charleston since we have an early flight the next morning. I am looking for a good hotel recommendation that is not too over the top since we'll have very little time to spend in the hotel itself. We could afford higher end accomodations but think it would be a waste seeing as we'll be checking in around dinner time and departing very early the next morning. Your recommendation would be appreciated.

You might want to search through previous posts and trip reports on hotels. I've stayed at The Meeting Street Inn, Kings Courtyard, Anchorage Inn ande Vendue Inn - all nice and great locations. Whatever deals are available around that time might make your decision easier. Since that is in the holiday season, availability might be your determining factor.

Meeting Street Inn if you can. It's awesome.

Go to the roof top bar for drinks!

There's an Embassy Suites smack dab in the middle of Downtown. That might be a bit more than you want to spend though. Across the street from it, on Calhoun and Meeting, is a decent Holiday Inn. Farther down Meeting, but in the historic District, is a Day's Inn. If you like B&B's Charleston has a ton available varyong in price and amenities. Enjoy your stay!
