We are going to Ogunquit, Maine for four nights during spring vacation (staying during the week, not on the weekend).

Looking for activity and restaurant suggestions. Would like to explore Southern Maine as we haven't spent time there in the past.

It will probably be cold, maybe rainy, maybe snowy, if you are lucky it will be sunny but cool. I love exploring coastal areas off season, walking the beach, watching for birds,animals, but be prepared with warm clothes, hats, gloves etc. Many of the places near the coast are seasonal and won't be open. The cities, colleges, etc. will be functioning normally. Google Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, UMaine etc. for programs etc.

Ogunquit is blessed with the nicest beaches north of Cape Cod, and even though you may need a parka, you can take some beautiful long walks on the beach.At Perkinns Cove, Marginal Way is a scenic little footpath that winds above the rocky stetches of Ogunquit. Cape Neddick light in nearby York is another very scenic spot. Hopefully some of Ogunquit's many art galleries will be open. Southern Maine is quite developed along route 1, and there should be plenty of restaurants open. If it's a rainy day you can shop at the miles of factory outlet stores in Kittery, or take a ride up to Portland, one of New England's most interesting cities. Portsmouth NH is also a fun little seaport town.

A meal at the Stage Neck Inn in York, or Mabel's in Kennebunkport would be nice, depending on which way you're exploring. Be sure to take Shore Drive down past Cliff House Resort to Cape Neddick, it's a very "southern Maine" scenic drive.

If the weather's nice, consider a couple hour's drive out route 109 through Sanford and around Lake Lovell then over to Wolfeboro NH for lunch, if you've never visited the NH Lakes region.
