Paula - we used to go to the little Mom and Pop Pizza place I believe just called New York Pizza. I can't remember what street it is on but it is a few blocks back from the main drag. It was fantastic. They used to make the sauce fresh every morning (they were actually Italian) and they did a booming business. The crust was as thin as you wanted it - and of course they had the usual Italian entrees as well. Anyway - I am just wondering if it is still there and if it is - its worth a visit!! All of the locals would go there and they did a huge takeout business. We spent 8 winters in the area and went there at least twice a month.

I googled the Pizza place and it is New York Pizza on Roosevelt street. It gets rave reviews on some of the sites I found. It is certainly worth the visit as it isn't just pizza - they have excellent Italian fare. Apparently it is still the same owner as when we went there.
