Oahu snorkeling cruise

Looking for a good one. Anyone been on Captain Bobs catamaran cruises? Not interested in just snorkeling from a beach. Specifically want a cruise. Good snorkel spots are important. Leaving 2 weeks from today. Help anyone

I haven't been on any snorkeling tours.
But here are a couple places to look for info:

do a search: oahu snorkeling tours
and/or oahu snorkel tours
and/or oahu snorkel tour reviews
and/or oahu snorkeling tour reviews

If you change your mind and want to do a trip from a beach, this is a good site. It also has snorkeling tips.

On our last trip to Oahu, we took a snorkel/wild dolphin cruise and it was fabulous. Not a great many fish but swimming in the midst of the dolphins was the highlight of our trip. Their website: http://www.sailhawaii.com/

rjscott...so glad you posted about www.sailhawaii.com. My daughter is going to Oahu next week and I suggested this to a relative as a college graduation gift. She booked the excursion. Any more feedback? Tips? Suggestions?

Trav, we've been on a lot of snorkeling excursions, both in Hawaii and the Caribbean, and Sail Hawaii did a great job. The crew is very concerned that everyone is safe, although they do not get in the water with the group, as some operators do. Also, since these are wild (not trained) dolpins, there are no guarantees that there will be any encounters, but they make every effort. I tried not to get my hopes up, and decided I would just be happy to see some dolphins. But, on our excursion, we swam with two different pods of dolphins, and then a pod followed the boat, spinning and leaping in the water around us, as we returned to port. It was an awesome day!

Thanks rjscott. Did the cruise originate from Waikiki or North shore?

Neither. It's out of Waianae on the west side of the island.

If you book it for the 14th...say hello to my daughter Stephanie.

Kat, the tour originates in Waianae, which is on the west coast side, north of Ko Olina. If you book with them, they will send very specific driving instructions. It was not at all hard to find.
One thing I didn't mention is that the crew gave us the option of going to a turtle site or continuing to look for dolphin pods. Our group opted for more dolphins, but snorkeling with turtles is pretty cool also. We've done that on the BI.
