NYC - Where's The Beef?
Last year or the year before, we were told that we absolutely _had_ to have this fabulous hamburger at one of the major restaurants. It was stuffed with pate, gorgonzola, bacon, and who knows what else, and cost around $30.00.
I could have sworn that it was served at the Union Square Cafe, maybe at the bar. I called them and also Bouley, to no avail. My DH didn't want one on our last trip (when we knew the name of the restaurant), but wants one now.
TIA,
Nina

Er, I've had it. One of those "you have to try it once" kind of things. Well it was certainly unique, with the fois gras and the short ribs and the parmesan bun. But for my money, I'll take a traditional burger at Rare or Wollensky's Grill or even Baker Street (neighborhood fave) any day.
