NYC visit, Dec. 26 - 29
Are there any hotels in the boroughs that have reasonable rates for a room suite for a family of 6? Preferably not far from a subway stop. The kids could sleep on rollaway beds, or sleeper sofa.
thanks

You might have better luck with trying to get two rooms, if your family doesn't mind splitting up. There are quite a few rooms listed on quickbook.com that are available including The Bentley (which I believe is nice - haven't stayed there) for $209/room.

You don;t want to stay in the boroughs - trekking back and forth will take forever - esp that week - with 1.1 million kids on the streets and parents trying to amuse them.
Either try the all suite hotels in the city (affinia.com is one good place to start) or get 2 separate rooms as noted above.
(I really don;t understand this mania to stuff so many people into one room. Once you're over 12 I would think a little privacy, plus more than one bath - would be worth a few extra $.)

I am going these exact dates.
I just got a lowered rate with Super 8 last week for $189 AAA rate/$199 reg. You would need 2 rooms. Rollaways aren't common in regular hotels and most have a limit of 4. Near several subway lines and one block from Times Square. Plus a decent cont. breakfast included.
I've stayed here many many times and have always been happy with the room. Rooms still available at this time.

The Affinia hotels mentioned above would be a good place to start, if that doesn't work try calling the Edison at 212-840-5000, they have some combo rooms with 2 sleeping areas and a bath and they also have rollaway beds for an additional fee. Also if you have AAA ask for that rate, it is not listed on the web. There really isn't a need to stay outside of Manhattan, the days between Christmas and New Years are usually a little less expensive and there is more occupancy than the weeks leading up to the holiday.
