NYC THEATRGOERS..ADVICE PLEASE

Will be coming to the city in couple months, want to take my daughters to a show. They are 7 and 9. We've seen, Beauty, Lion King, Prince & Pauper. Looking for a great show that is appropriate. Can anyone tell me if Hairspray would be appropriate. Thanks for your help.

The following site has good info about plays that will help you decide what show would be suitable for your daughters:

I haven't seen Hairspray, so I can't comment, but tickets are pretty hard to come by. They might like 42nd Street -- unlikely they'll understand the full plot, but the dancing and costumes are great. Another choice might be Thoroughly Modern Millie. Again, a wholesome, family musical with lots of great singing and dancing, but doubtful that they'll grasp the entire plot.

I took my 9 year old to see Chicago.... and she loved it! My daughter adores singing and dancing... so this was the show for her.... and the plot was secondary to her since she was so mesmerized my the dancing,,,

I'm sure your daughters would enjoy "Into the Woods." It's based on several fairy tales and is just as fun for the adults. I believe it will be running at least until sometime in February.
