The last time I was in Paris I went to the Montparnasse Cemetery to visit the graves of Beckett and Man Ray, among others. When I went to Prague I carried a large rubber bug which I placed and photographed on Franz Kafka's tombstone. I wanted to carry a pair of old boots to put on Beckett's grave but they were too heavy for Ryanair. So I simply put a note on his grave that read, "Act II."

Neo: The recommendation was exactly as stated -- for last-minute, hard-to-get. I never said they were face value or recommended them for tix available elsewhere. And in fact I suggested that TKTS may be a better source for readily available.

I don't understand what you don't understand.

Thanks Howard. I wish I was thin. (Insert ironic smiley face.)

Vincenzo, as I thought I made clear -- it may be a source of buying "scalped" or "resale" tickets at high prices, and that part I DID understand in your post.

What didn't I understand? "They have tix at competitive prices for most Broadway shows, including Kinky Boots." You DID say that also, not specifying JUST sold out shows.

I guess I didn't get the "competitive prices for most Broadway shows" comment. That sounded like you were suggesting it was also a source for MOST Broadway shows, but clearly it appears to be a site that is totally NON-COMPETITIVE with actual ticket websites for ANY show that is not totally sold out. And "most" Broadway shows are not sold out.

The other part I didn't "get" was the idea of having to pay a membership fee to buy a $147 ticket for $1200.00

I just thought that some unsuspecting tourist might go to the site and buy way oveerpriced tickets for any show because your post seemed to suggest that their prices would be competitive for "most Broadway shows".

I would go to anything at the Public Theatre or Joe's Pub. Waiting for Godot and A Gentleman's Guide are excellent.

I adored Pippin. Not Cirque at all. A wonderful story, told wonderfully. It is SOOOOOO much better than Kinky Boots, IMHO.

First blogs are appearing on last nights first preview of Bullets Over Broadway. Most seem to be raves, and reading between the lines of the others, it still sounds great. Got our tickets today for last day of May.

Bridges of Madison County has really good discounts right now through April 20 (right after Easter), and I suspect if attendance doesn't pick up it might close. Though I suspect they'll at least try to hang on through the Tonys.

I understand Chris Christie is buying all the tickets to Bridges of Madison County.

Shhh. That's not for public record. But if he does that he wants it changed to Bridges of Bergen County.

Thanks to all of you who helped me plan my trip to NYC. I just posted a trip report titled 'NYC Spring Break'. I really appreciate all of your advice!
