NYC Pizza Near Penn Station?

We stopped at a great pizza place (order up front at the window, quick service, tables in the back) just across the street diagonally from Penn Station and I'd like to recommended it to a friend but can't remember the name. It was right on the corner (33rd & 7th?).

Can y'all help me with its name? Thanks!

Using the street view of Google maps, I see that there is a Sbarro on that corner. (Sbarro is a chain.)

Hope you don;t mean Sbarro - their pizza is mediocre chain stuff at best - you can find it at any mall.

It was definitely NOT Sbarro. It was more of a long-time pizza (and gyro) place. The list would be helpful if I could remember the name. I'll keep on clicking.

There is a gyro place on the east side of 7th Avenue near 33rd Street. I think it is called " The Gyro Place on the east side of 7th Avenue near 33rd Street."

I've googled street pictured it and can't find it. Maybe it closed. But it had been there a long time, had newspaper clippings with reviews framed on the wall. At one time, the line was out the door, so it had to be a local favorite. Thanks again. I'll keep looking through the list.

I think it's now Amadeus and it was Ray's. Anyone who was in there a year ago remember it to be like my description? Thanks.

What's wrong with Gyro II on the list I gave you? You didn't mention gyros before. http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/gyro-ii/

When you look at their menu on menupages, the pizza says Spinelli's. Maybe they merged.

So sorry, it was calzones not gyros. I know, I know. I claim over-50 brain.

Anyway, WE FOUND IT! It was "NY Pizza Suprema" @ corner of 31st and 8th. We kept google street viewing around Penn Station until it looked familiar.

Thank you all. Fodor's rocks!
