NYC subway question -- quick one

Please settle a friendly bet: The 6 train is local and the 4 and 5 are express, right? Or is it the other way around? And...at the 86th and Lex stop, to go downtown, you go down the stairs to the bottom-most platform, right?

We used to live there, but can't remember these things anymore!

The 6 is local, 4 and 5 are express.

At 86th Street, there is no free connection between the Uptown and Downtown sides- you have to exit the station to switch.

The upper level platform is for the 6 and the lower level platform is for the 4/5, going in both directions.

My usual cut is 10%.

The lower levels of the 86th Street station are for the Express, in either direction. Upstairs is the 6 local, both north and Southbound.
